2.1 In order to provide you with the services listed on this website through our mobile applications, you may be required to provide MicroPay with personal information. Personal information is information which identifies you as an individual, including but not limited to, your nationality, age, contact details, any identifying number assigned to you and any information relating to transactions in which you have been involved.

3.1 You may be requested to provide certain personal information. The types of personal information collected may include your name, handset details, contact and billing information, and transaction information.
3.2 In order to tailor our subsequent communications to you and continuously improve our products and services, we may also ask you to provide us with information regarding your personal or professional interests, demographics, experience with our products and this website, and more detailed contact preferences.

4.1 MicroPay uses your information to better understand your needs and to provide you with better service. Specifically, MicroPay will use your personal information to contact you in relation to the goods and services that MicroPay provides to you.
4.2 MicroPay reserves the right to perform statistical analyses of user behaviour in order to measure interest in and use the various areas of our applicatom, so long as such statistical analyses will not be linked to any registered person by a third party.
4.3 Because we don’t want you to miss out on any of the deals and promotions that we may have, and if it is agreeable to you when you register with us or at any other time, we may use your personal information to contact you for market research.
4.4 MicroPay may send you promotional materials or details by SMS, e-mail or post in order to update you and keep you advised of any promotions, news, competitions or developments which we think may be of interest to you. We will always give you the opportunity to unsubscribe to the receiving of such direct communications.
4.5 Further, notwithstanding any such preference not to receive promotional information by the user, MicroPay reserves the right to contact the user regarding account status, changes to the terms and conditions and other matters relevant to the underlying services and/or the information collected.

5.1 If you register on our application, we will not make your personal information available to a anyone unless permitted or required to do so by law. We will therefore not sell, rent or provide your personal information to unauthorised entities or third parties for their independent use without your consent.

7.1 MicroPay reserves the right to amend this privacy policy at any time by posting the amended policy on the website. Unless otherwise stated, the current version will apply each time you access this website.

8. Which laws apply

8.1 This privacy policy will be governed by the laws of Uganda. You consent to the jurisdiction of the Ugandan courts for any dispute which may arise out of this privacy policy.

What are my rights?

If Micropay processes Personal Data about you, you have the following rights:

Access and correction: You have the right to access the Personal Data retained by Micropay. This is sometimes called a ‘Data Subject Access Request’. If we agree that we are obliged to provide Personal Data to you, we will provide it to you free of charge. Before providing Personal Data to you, we may ask for proof of identity and sufficient information about your interactions with us that we can locate your Personal Data. If the Personal Data we hold about you is incorrect, you are entitled to ask us to correct any inaccuracies in the Personal Data.

• Object to Processing: You have the right to object to us Processing your Personal Data, on grounds relating to your particular situation, under certain circumstances (including to receiving direct marketing from us). For example, if we are Processing your Personal Data on the basis that is necessary for purposes of our or a third party’s legitimate interest or in the public interest. You may also object if you believe there is no legal basis for us to process your Personal Data anymore.
• Withhold consent: You have the right to withhold your consent without any fear of negative repercussions in circumstances that we seek your consent to process your Personal Data.
• Withdraw consent: You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time and we cease Processing your Personal Data unless there is an alternative legal basis to continue Processing your Personal Data. We will advise you if we intend to continue Processing your Personal Data in these circumstances.
• Disposal / Restrictions: In addition, you may have rights to have your information deleted / destroyed if we are keeping it too long or have no legal basis to process it. You may also request that the Processing of your Personal Data is restricted in certain circumstances.
• Lodge complaints: You have the right to lodge a complaint regarding the way your Personal Data is being processed with Micropay or if you believe there has been a breach of Micropay privacy policies and/or data privacy laws.
